IFFHS Football Rankings 2008

 

Manchester United stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Edwin Van Der Sar find place in the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) World rankings in the playmaker and goal keeper rankings. Liverpool’s inspirational captain Steven Gerrard also made it to the play maker list and he is the only England footballer in the list.. Spain players topped the list due to their heroics in the Euro 2008.

 

 

IFFHS World’s Best Goalkeeper of 2008 Rankings:

 

1. Iker Casillas (Spain and Real Madrid): He is in scintillating form in 2008.

 

2. Gianluigi Buffon (Italy and Juventus)

 

3. Edwin van der Sar (Netherlands and Manchester United): How many goals United gave in recent time? May be in single digits. Thanks to Ferdinand-Vidic-Van Der Sar combination.

 

4. Petr Cech, Czech Republic (Chelsea)

 

 

IFFHS World’s Best Playmaker of 2008 Rankings:

 

 

1. Xavi Hernández (Spain and Barcelona): Silent assassin. Excellent player and best player in Euro 2008.

 

2. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal and Manchester United): FIFA World player of year 2008.

 

3. Lionel Messi (Argentina and Barcelona): Best footballer in the world.

 

4. Steven Gerrard England and Liverpool): Inspirational force behind Liverpool.

 

 

IFFHS World’s Best Top Division Goalscorer of 2008 Rankings:

 

1. Lucas Ramón Barrios (Argentina and Colo Colo): he scored 37 goals in 38 Matches.

 

2. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Netherlands and Ajax Amsterdam): He scored 33 goals in 34 matches.

 

3. Miguel Alejandro Ximénez (Uruguay and Sporting Cristal)

 

4. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal and Manchester United)
